Abstract: Maxillofacial pain in the elderly population is closely related to oral and systemic diseases, and the special situation of multi-disease co-existence and multi-drug use greatly increases the difficulty of pain diagnosis. This article briefly summarizes the etiology of maxillofacial pain in the elderly population, and how to diagnose it through history inquiry and clinical examination. Quickly and accurately diagnosing the underlying causes of maxillofacial pain in the elderly population is of great significance for their physical and mental health. Reducing the risk factors that threaten their overall health can lay a foundation for effective treatment measures in the future.
