Abstract: With society gradually entering the aging stage, attention to the oral health of the elderly has become a crucial task for maintaining their overall health and improving their quality of life. Recently, the concept of oral frailty has been proposed, which refers to a series of aging-related phenomena or processes that leads to changes in oral conditions, such as decreased number of teeth, oral hygiene issues, and declining oral functions. Oral frailty is accompanied by weakened awareness of oral health maintenance and decline in physical and mental reserves in the elderly, leading to eating disorders and ultimately affecting their general health. This article reviewed the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and intervention of oral frailty, with the aim of providing useful references for improving the oral health level of the elderly.
