Abstract: Minimally invasive treatment, maximum preservation of pulp vitality and prolonging tooth life are important development trends in contemporary endodontic treatment. In recent years, scholars have devoted themselves to the biological basis of living pulp preservation, clinical operation specifications and new types of pulp capping materials, and the clinical success rate of vital pulp therapy(VPT) has been significantly improved. In clinical operation, infection control is the key link of treatment and the most critical factor to ensure its success rate. Based on the latest research and guidelines, this paper summarizes the key points of infection control in the treatment of vital pulp therapy, from the aspects of preoperative diagnosis, intraoperative operation and postoperative repair, in order to provide references for clinical development of vital pulp therapy and future development in this field.
