Abstract: The 20th CPC National Congress highlights the key role of ideological and political education in talent cultivation. The standardized medical residency training is an important practice stage of medical training, in which, clinical teaching with ideological and political education (CT-IP) is of great significance in cultivating doctors with talent skills and ethics. However, current practices in dental residency training reveal significant challenges, such as fragmented understanding of CT-IP principles and insufficient integration of ideological elements into clinical curricula, which hinder the effective cultivation of morally and professionally competent medical personnel. To address these issues, the following strategies are proposed: clarifying educational objectives, strengthening teacher teams, optimizing teaching content and methods, and improving evaluation systems. These measures aim to harmonize ideological and political education with professional training, fostering well-rounded medical professionals who contribute to national health and social progress.
