Abstract: Periodontal disease, as a highly prevalent chronic disease in China, has become a significant public health challenge due to its high prevalence rate, significant age and regional differences, and close association with overall health. Based on the outcomes of the Expert Seminar on Periodontal Health held in June 2025, this article systematically summarizes the prevalence characteristics of periodontal diseases in the Chinese population, the current status of diagnosis, treatment and management, periodontal systematic diagnosis and treatment as well as full-course management strategies, and introduces the clinical applications of classic drugs and new active ingredients, aiming to provide references for the optimization of periodontal health management in China.
