Generalized Periodontitis at Stage III Grade C Treated with Combined Modality Therapy

Abstract: Objective: This case reports the multidisciplinary combination treatment of generalized periodontitis at stage III grade C and followed up for 4 years. Diagnosis and treatment: A 52-year-old male patient with a chief complaint of multiple teeth mobility was diagnosed with generalized periodontitis by clinical and radio graphic examinations. With the informed consent of the patient, the patient received periodontal initial therapy, root canal treatment, orthodontic treatment, implant surgery, and supportive periodontal therapy for 4 years. Results: After 4 years of multidisciplinary treatment, the patient's periodontal condition is stable. The occlusion tend to be coordinated and stable, and the missing teeth are restored. Conclusions: Initial and supportive periodontal therapy plays an important role in eliminating periodontal inflammation. Periodontal therapy combined with orthodontic and implant therapy are extremely useful to improve function and aesthetic.
