Zhaolan Guan, Xiaoqing Yin, Xiaoyan Cai, Danyan Hu, Mengnan Zhang, Luwei Liu, Hongmei Wu
    2024, 27(2):  117-123.  DOI: 10.12337/zgkqjxjyzz.2024.02.001
    Abstract ( 42 )   PDF (1925KB) ( 40 )
Objective: To investigate the factors affecting enamel demineralization in orthodontic patients and to establish a logistic regression prediction model. Methods: A total of 1934 orthodontic patients were selected from three hospitals in Nanjing from December 2019 to December 2022 as the research subjects. The risk factors between the demineralization group (n=226) and the non-demineralization group (n=1708) were compared. Logistic regression analysis was used to establish a risk prediction model, and the prediction effect of the model was evaluated by ROC curve. Additionally, 828 patients who met the criteria from January to June 2023 were selected for model prediction effect validation. Results: Seven independent risk factors including caries, dental plaque, tooth surface erosion, preference for soft food, brushing frequency, fluoride toothpaste and orthodontic treatment duration were included to construct the risk prediction model. The area under the ROC curve of this model was 0.849, with the sensitivity, the specificity and the Youden index were 0.771, 0.723, and 0.494, respectively. The model validation results showed the sensitivity of 0.813, the specificity of 0.733, and the accuracy of 74.09%. Conclusions: The model is effective in predicting the risk of enamel demineralization, and can provide reference for healthcare professionals to implement timely preventive management measures.

    2024, 27(2):  124-131.  DOI: 10.12337/zgkqjxjyzz.2024.02.002
    Abstract ( 18 )   PDF (4195KB) ( 9 )
Objective: To summarize the osteogenic effect of monocortical mandibular bone combined with calcium phosphate cement (CPC) powder containing recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) in alveolar bone graft. Methods: Patients with alveolar cleft treated by the above methods from December 2020 to November 2021 were reviewed, and the bone resorption and complications were analyzed. Results: A total of 8 cases were included, the average bone resorption rate was 28.88%. One case had wound dehiscence, and the curative effect was still good after treatment. One case suffered from wound dehiscence and infection 2 weeks after operation. The CT scan at 6 months after operation indicated that the graft bone was not continuous with the surrounding bone. At 8 months after operation, the bone block was discharged from the dehiscence. Conclusions: The effect of monocortical mandibular bone combined with CPC powder containing rhBMP-2 in repairing alveolar cleft was acceptable with lower bone absorption rate, higher new bone density, less trauma, and thus valuable clinical application.

Xiaotong Wang, Aiping Ji, Jie Bai
    2024, 27(2):  132-137.  DOI: 10.12337/zgkqjxjyzz.2024.02.003
    Abstract ( 20 )   PDF (1675KB) ( 14 )
The timing of treatment for traumatic dental injuries of different types has varying effects on prognosis. This article classified and prioritized patients with dental trauma based on whether the development of different types of dental trauma would rapidly progress or affect disease prognosis in a short period of time, combined with the actual clinical work of oral emergency. The treatment sequence of dental trauma was divided into dental trauma that required priority treatment in the oral emergency department, dental trauma that required treatment on the same day in the oral emergency department, and dental trauma that could be treated with short-term delayed treatment. There was a significant correlation between the long-term prognosis and treatment time of trauma teeth that required priority emergency treatment. So as to achieve rational utilization of limited oral medical resources, avoid delaying the condition.
