Abstract: Magnetic resonance spectroscopy, is a non-invasive imaging method to detect metabolite content in the brain, plays an important role in the clinical assessment of neurological diseases. Abnormal metabolite levels may cause neurological diseases. This paper reviews the research status and some clinical applications of magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the detection of metabolites in brain.

Key words: magnetic resonance spectrum, brain metabolites, diagnosis of neurological diseases, general anesthesia, postoperative cognitive dysfunction
