Exploration of the Integration Path of Ideological and Political Education in Stomatology Clinical Practice Teaching

Abstract: Clinical practice teaching of stomatology is characterized by strong practicality, close doctor-patient interaction, and rapid technological updates, which place higher demands on the ideological and political education in clinical practice courses. In response to challenges such as insufficient exploration of ideological elements, low integration with professional practice, and monotonous teaching methods in clinical practice teaching, Peking University School of Stomatology has established a ‘Value-Practice-Innovation’ three-dimensional education system. In the value dimension, a collaborative education system guided by ideological values is constructed; in the practice dimension, the integration of skill improvement and character development is achieved; and, in the innovation dimension, the ideological and political education system is enhanced to stimulate innovative thinking. By exploring differentiated paths and innovating teaching platforms, the system has improved students’ professional qualities and patriotic sentiment. This system provides a replicable implementation path for ideological and political education in not only stomatology but also general clinical practice teaching.
